Animal Reiki Treatments Cambridge & Kitchener area
Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle, non-invasive and doesn't require physical contact. It doesn't cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful results. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki's power to support the healing of emotional, behavioural, and physical illnesses and injuries. For animals who are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment. Senior Animals who suffer from arthritis and other pain management issues may find that reiki provides relief and comfort.

Reiki has been shown, in some cases, to be effective in helping to reduce the need for medication. On-going treatments increase the quality of life for many seniors. For animals who are ill, Reiki is a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to Western Medicine, Chinese Medicine, homeopathy and all other forms of healing.

For example, Reiki can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, support an acupuncture treatment, and complement the effects of other healing modalities.
Animals recovering from surgery stay more comfortable and are able to heal more quickly. Animals in stressful situations, such as separation anxiety, moving to a new home, abandonment, injury, abuse or a death in the family, may find reiki to be very calming.
It's also beneficial in transitioning cats, dogs and horses from a shelter or rescue to your home. For dying animals, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear, and anxiety, and to ease the transition to death. Reiki is also a wonderful way to support a dying animal's family.
Mission for Animal Well-Being
I have a commitment that starts with my own healing journey and then includes the animals, the animal's families, the animal health care profession and the community itself. It is this pledge that motivates me in my mission to bring the powerful healing energy of Reiki to the animals in our lives, and also to uphold the highest standards and protocols of the Animal Reiki profession.
On-Site Reiki Treatments
Treatments are given in the animal's environment, to provide a feeling of comfort and security. The practitioner will gently and slowly move into the animal's space and allow the animal to come to receive the energy, at its own pace and comfort level.
The practitioner does not move or manipulate the animal in any way and accepts when the animal has had enough of the energy flow. Most animals will indicate this by simply moving out of the energy field. Each session is tailored to suit the needs of each individual animal. In person treatments may be "hands-on" or even from a few feet away.
Mary-Anne always asks permission of the animal first, and allows the animal to determine the course of the treatment. Many animals enjoy hands-on treatments, and in these cases, Mary-Anne administers the hand positions which the animals guide her to use.
An animal's reaction to Reiki can vary from falling asleep to being fidgety and restless, or getting up and moving around. Some animals focus intently on the practitioner's hands and may even lick them, trying to get the energy out.
Others will adjust their position under the hands to better utilize the treatment. Some will even learn to recognize a Reiki practitioner and seek out treatments from them. For other animals, treatments are much more comfortable from a few feet away, or even from across the room.
Whether given directly hands-on or from across the room, treatments are equally effective. Most importantly, treatments are always adjusted to fit each animal's preference. Sometimes after a first treatment from a few feet away, trust is established and the animal will ask for a hands-on treatment the next time.

After a Reiki treatment, results may be seen within the 24-48 hours. In some cases, you may notice an immediate change in your animal. Often, healing can be seen in your animal after only one or two Animal Reiki treatments, while some conditions may require regular on-going Reiki treatments to facilitate the healing process
It is important to remember that while Reiki is an energy healing modality, it is not a substitute for proper Veterinary care. A Reiki practitioner does not diagnose illness, since only a Veterinarian is licensed to do so.
